Yayoi Kusama is an iconic Japanese contemporary artist with a focus on sculptural and art installations. Born in 1929, Kusama has attributed her vivid hallucinations she experienced as a child as being the inspiration for her patterned art. Creating art has been a way for Kusama to both express and deal with her mental health.
