Keith Haring, the street artist who famously stated that "art is for everybody," began producing posters in 1982 while still an art school student. Haring utilised posters to raise awareness of the crack cocaine epidemic in the US, racial tension in South Africa, glooming global nuclear threats, and the destruction caused by AIDS.
